Facility Manager

About the role

As a Facility Manager at NEXTDC you will own the day‑to‑day operation of a world‑class data centre, leading a high‑performing facilities team and managing external contractors. You will ensure the safe, reliable and efficient performance of critical electrical and mechanical systems while supporting our customers and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily data centre operations, including facilities teams, contractors and maintenance programmes.
• Manage incidents, reporting and escalation in line with NEXTDC policies.
• Partner with Customer Operations, Sales and Service Delivery to deliver seamless provisioning and installations.
• Own Facility Rules and ensure compliance across customers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee maintenance contracts and service providers, maintaining health, safety and operational compliance.
• Identify, investigate and resolve facility issues, coordinating testing, documentation and certification.
• Prepare operational insights and recommendations to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors and internal teams.
• Recruit, mentor and develop facilities team members, fostering a safety‑focused culture.
• Support risk identification, mitigation and security awareness across the site.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading facilities or operations teams in a technical environment.
• Strong focus on health, safety and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to manage multiple contractors and service providers.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to act quickly on incidents.
• Effective communication and relationship‑building with internal and external stakeholders.
