About the role
We are looking for a proactive Facilities Technician to join Greystar’s Facilities and Maintenance team at our student accommodation in Redfern, Sydney. This casual position involves a variety of hands‑on tasks to keep the building and its residents comfortable and safe.
Key responsibilities
- Respond to and resolve maintenance requests across apartments and shared areas.
- Prepare rooms for new residents, performing minor repairs and final inspections.
- Maintain lighting, safety systems and general building infrastructure.
- Record maintenance activities and safety checks in the management system.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers on‑site.
- Provide friendly assistance to residents when issues arise.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation for after‑hours support.
Required profile
- Practical hands‑on experience in maintenance, facilities or related trades.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 12 kg, climb ladders and remain active throughout the day.
- Clear communication skills and a friendly approach with residents.
- Successful completion of a National Criminal History Check and Working with Children Check.
