Fabrication Supervisor (Boning Room)

About the role

JBS Beef City, located 35 km west of Toowoomba, is recruiting an experienced Fabrication Foreperson (Boning Room) to join its operations leadership team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Fabrication Supervisor, you will manage people, processes, safety, quality and compliance within the boning room so that a high-quality, efficient product is produced.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and engage a large, diverse team of fabrication room members, keeping them productive, engaged and safe
• Maintain the relationships needed for maximum production of a high-quality product
• Ensure regulatory requirements for fresh beef production are met
• Keep teams adequately manned and ensure everyone meets competency requirements for their tasks
• Supervise and manage employees in line with company values and the employee handbook, including the code of conduct
• Monitor cutting lines and packaging knowledge, and ensure scales are tested physically each day
• Correct pre-operational hygiene inspections before start of work
• Maintain a safe workplace and develop, implement and maintain safe work practices, in line with JBS WHS training programs
• Complete departmental production reports on time

Required profile

• Previous experience in the meat industry is essential
• Previous experience in a similar leadership position is highly regarded
• Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team, in a fast-paced environment

Required skills

• Workplace Health and Safety, food safety and quality assurance knowledge
• Computer literacy, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook
• Communication, delegation and interpersonal skills, with calm handling of difficult situations
• Prioritisation, multi-tasking and attention to detail
