F-35 Depot Avionics AME

About the role

Sigma Aerospace Workforce is recruiting Avionics AMEs to support F-35 depot maintenance at Williamtown, NSW, in a regulated Defence aviation maintenance environment. The role suits Cert IV qualified avionics maintenance engineers who are confident with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, fault diagnosis and accurate maintenance documentation. Military aviation experience is highly regarded, and F-35 experience is viewed strongly. The position is a 12-month contract starting around 12 October 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out avionics maintenance tasks within the depot maintenance environment
• Support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities
• Perform inspections, fault diagnosis and rectification support
• Complete maintenance documentation accurately and in line with required procedures
• Work safely within a Defence aviation maintenance environment

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Aeroskills - Avionics, or an equivalent avionics aircraft maintenance qualification
• Avionics aircraft maintenance experience, ideally within military aviation, Defence, depot maintenance or a comparable regulated environment; F-35 experience is highly advantageous
• Australian citizenship is required
• Current NV1 Defence security clearance is required
• Preference for local Williamtown, Newcastle and Hunter region candidates
• Availability for a 12-month contract starting around 12 October 2026
