External Communications Coordinator

About the role

Marathon Health is seeking a proactive and creative External Communications Coordinator to help connect communities with health and wellbeing services. Based in Albury, NSW, the role will support PR, social media, content creation, campaigns and community engagement across regional and rural Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Support PR and media activities, including media monitoring, research and content development
• Create and schedule content across social media platforms
• Identify and develop compelling stories from across the organisation
• Repurpose content across channels including social media, website, PR and email communications
• Support integrated communications campaigns from planning through to delivery
• Assist with community engagement activities, events and stakeholder communications
• Monitor performance and report on content and campaign outcomes
• Contribute to a pipeline of authentic stories showcasing Marathon Health’s people, services and impact

Required profile

• Values‑driven with a passion for storytelling
• Strong writing and communication abilities
• 1–3 years experience in communications, marketing, public relations or a related field
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Proactive, collaborative and solutions‑focused approach
• Curiosity about emerging media, social trends and digital tools
• Experience in health, community services or not‑for‑profit sector (highly regarded)
