Experienced Excavator Operator – Open Cut Mining

About the role

Thiess is seeking experienced Excavator Operators for its Mount Pleasant operation. The role involves operating a range of heavy earth‑moving equipment in an open‑cut mining environment on a rotating 5/4, 4/5 or 5/5 roster that includes day, night and weekend shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Operate Liebherr (9600, 996, 9400, 9350), Cat 6060 and Hitachi excavators safely and efficiently.
• Maintain compliance with the highest safety, community and environmental standards.
• Follow directions from supervisors while working autonomously when required.
• Contribute to a high‑performance team and support continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating heavy earth‑moving machinery in a mining setting.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team.
