Experienced Drafter - Waste & Resource Recovery

About the role

SMEC is looking for an experienced Civil Designer/Drafter to join its Waste & Resource Recovery team, ideally based in Newcastle or Sydney. The role supports major infrastructure projects in NSW and across ANZ, delivering high-quality design drawings to clients. Applicants should have a track record in a similar role, gained in an engineering design consultancy.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional design experience, typically in civil engineering
• Waste industry experience is an advantage
• Diploma, Advanced Diploma or equivalent professional tertiary qualification in Civil Drafting

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and 12d software
• Experience with Common Data Environments and a passion for digital delivery
• Proven understanding of Australian Standards and local regulations
