About the role
The Queensland Department of Education seeks an Executive Director to lead its Performance Monitoring and Reporting Unit. This senior position drives data‑driven decision‑making, aligns reporting with whole‑of‑government priorities, and ensures high‑quality corporate reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the collection, maintenance and reporting of early childhood and school performance data, including enrolment, attendance and attainment.
- Oversee performance analysis and reporting for the Department of Education.
- Provide expert advisory and consultancy to internal sections on performance measurement, monitoring and reporting.
- Represent the department at national and state consultative bodies.
- Manage data storage systems and business‑intelligence processes to make strategic information readily available.
- Ensure compliance with corporate reporting and legislative requirements.
Required profile
- Demonstrated senior leadership and management capability in a public‑sector environment.
- Strong understanding of performance monitoring, data governance and reporting frameworks.
- Experience delivering high‑impact client service and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to influence senior executives and represent the department externally.
