Executive Assistant - C-Suite

About the role

The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) is looking for a proactive Executive Assistant to support its senior leadership team in Perth. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO), the role also provides targeted assistance to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and local support to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) when based in Perth.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the COO to coordinate executive priorities and support strategic and operational objectives.
• Manage complex diaries, meetings, travel arrangements and executive schedules.
• Prepare executive correspondence, presentations, briefing papers and reports.
• Coordinate governance activities, including agendas, papers, minutes and action tracking.
• Monitor priorities, deadlines and follow‑up actions to ensure timely delivery of outcomes.
• Support key projects, initiatives and leadership activities across the COO portfolio.
• Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and act as a key point of contact for executive matters.
• Handle confidential information with discretion and provide targeted support to the CMO and CEO when in Perth.

Required profile

• Significant experience supporting C‑Suite executives or senior leaders in a fast‑paced environment.
• Exceptional organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Proven stakeholder management and relationship‑building capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and exercise sound judgement.
• Proactive, adaptable and solutions‑focused approach.
• High levels of professionalism, integrity and discretion.
