Excavator and Shovel Operators – Mining Operations

About the role

Glencore is seeking experienced excavator and shovel operators for its high‑performing Clermont Open Cut coal mine in Queensland. You will join a safe, dynamic and inclusive team focused on delivering 12 million tonnes of coal per year.

Key responsibilities

• Safe and efficient operation of heavy mobile equipment on the open‑cut mine.
• Perform the full range of mining tasks to meet daily production targets.
• Promote a high level of safety performance and a positive workplace culture.
• Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and minimise environmental impact.

Required profile

• Current Standard 11 Induction (desirable) and Coal Board Medical (desirable).
• Verified training transcript/skills list and a current Australian driver’s licence.
• Right to work in Australia and a strong commitment to safety.
• Ability to follow plans, adapt to a dynamic environment and work well in a team.
• Positive attitude, reliability and proactive work ethic.

Required skills

• Operation of Hitachi 5600, Hitachi 5500‑6 or Hitachi 3600 excavators.
• Operation of P&H 4100 XPC shovels.
• General heavy mobile equipment handling in a mining context.
