Equipment Operator

About the role

Aurizon is expanding its supply chain footprint in South Australia and needs skilled Equipment Operators to support BHP copper operations at Olympic Dam. You will work on a 7‑days‑on / 7‑days‑off roster, operating heavy equipment to ensure safe and efficient freight movements across the terminal network.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a range of equipment including reach stackers, forklifts (10 t capacity), front‑end loaders, lidlifters, scissor lifts and boom lifts.
• Safely manage container and freight movements in line with daily operational plans.
• Perform basic equipment inspections and maintain accurate documentation.
• Support terminal coordination tasks such as basic marshalling and transport system updates.
• Induct customers and contractors according to site safety protocols.
• Contribute to a positive safety culture and high‑performance team environment.

Required profile

• Reliable, safety‑conscious individual with a strong work ethic and team mindset.
• Proactive and adaptable attitude with good communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, especially regarding safety and compliance.
• Flexibility to work day, night, weekend and public holiday shifts on a rotating roster.
• Ability to meet pre‑employment requirements: National Police Check, reference checks and medical assessment.
