Equipment Engineering Team Lead, Manufacturing

About the role

Alcon is seeking an experienced Equipment Engineering Team Lead to drive the design, development, and maintenance of precision manufacturing equipment and automation control systems. This senior position will lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure high‑quality, compliant production processes that support global eye‑health solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team in designing, developing, implementing, operating, and maintaining control systems for manufacturing equipment.
• Apply control theory and mathematical modeling to analyze system behavior and optimize performance.
• Oversee day‑to‑day task allocation, decision‑making, and performance management for team members.
• Ensure compliance with GxP regulations, SOPs, and rigorous documentation standards.
• Foster a culture of excellence through talent development, employee engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 + years experience in precision part assembly design or equipment design.
• At least 2 + years of experience leading diverse engineering teams.
• Ability to communicate cross‑functionally with Production, Engineering and other stakeholders.
• Tertiary degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related discipline preferred).

Required skills

• Control theory and automation control systems.
• Mathematical modeling and system behavior analysis.
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Design and manufacture of high‑precision optical, opto‑mechanical, or electronic equipment.
• Verification and Validation (V&V) processes.
