Environmental Planner

About the role

Join AECOM’s environmental practice to help clients meet their environmental responsibilities while protecting natural resources. You will work on diverse projects across multiple industries, contributing to sustainable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, planners, and ecologists to assess impacts and develop compliant solutions.
• Conduct planning assessments, gather environmental data, and prepare comprehensive environmental assessments.
• Liaise with government agencies and stakeholders to secure regulatory approvals and advocate for sustainable project outcomes.
• Develop strategies to minimise environmental impacts, promote biodiversity, and integrate sustainability into project delivery.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Town/Urban/Environmental Planning.
• 3+ years’ experience in development approvals and planning, including consulting work.
• Knowledge of Queensland and Commonwealth environmental and planning legislation.
• Strong understanding of environmental concepts and ability to apply technical knowledge.
• Adaptability to work across multiple sectors and client types.
