Entry Level Drillers Offsider - FIFO (Surface & Underground)

About the role

Niche Resources is hiring entry-level Drillers Offsiders (drillers assistants / trade assistants) for surface and underground rigs on 2/1, 3/1 and 4/2 FIFO rosters across Western Australia. The role is described as the trade assistant to the driller: you do the physical work, learn the trade day by day and move up the ladder toward a drilling traineeship and eventually your own rig. Traineeships are paid and last about two years.

Key responsibilities

• Do the heavy lifting and labouring that keeps the rig running
• Work long days in heat, dust and mud
• Learn from the driller every shift and take real steps toward the traineeship

Required profile

• Current Australian C class driver's licence (no P plates)
• Fit, healthy and ready to do the hard work
• Willing to commit to a highly paid two-year traineeship
• Currently in WA or has a clear plan to relocate
• Preferred: experience around drill rigs, mining or FIFO; farming, construction, trades or other heavy labour background; current national police clearance; HR licence (HR-B ok) or working toward it
• Working Holiday Visa holders cannot be considered

What we offer

• Paid traineeship with weekly pay and a salary of around $125,000 to $135,000 in year one, plus superannuation
• A clear pathway to driller in about two years, earning $180k+ once qualified
• FIFO from Perth to multiple WA sites, with all required tickets sorted before you fly, including a truck licence
