Enrolled Nurse – Primary Healthcare (Defence)

About the role

We are seeking an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team at Lavarack Health Centre in Townsville. The role supports delivery of high‑quality primary healthcare to Defence personnel in a unique on‑base environment.

Key responsibilities

• Work Monday‑Friday shifts covering planned and unplanned leave.
• Deliver nursing care to Defence personnel under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provide outpatient care and support inpatient care as needed.
• Administer medications (where endorsed) in line with legislation and clinical protocols.
• Assist with patient assessments, treatment plans and health‑promotion activities.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient, high‑quality care.

Required profile

• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2).
• At least two years post‑registration nursing experience in acute care, primary healthcare or a similar setting within the last five years.
• Medication endorsement if required for the role.
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009).
• Australian citizenship (baseline security clearance).
• Commitment to clinical governance, infection control, CPD and professional development.
