ENL Curriculum Committee Member for Grades 9-12

About the role

The Buffalo Public Schools Board of Education is seeking a qualified teacher to serve as a member of the English as a New Language (ENL) Curriculum Committee for grades 9‑12 during the 2026‑2027 school year. The appointment runs from September 2026 through June 2027 and includes a contractual payment for committee work.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Division of Multilingual Education and curriculum administrators to develop frameworks and content for English Language Learners.
• Complete assigned tasks within set deadlines, including the creation of standalone and integrated instructional materials.
• Participate in professional development activities related to ENL curriculum and standards.
• Provide input on the Next Generation Learning Standards, Commissioner Regulations Part 154, and the Blueprint for ELL/MLL success.

Required profile

• Current New York State teacher certification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
• Employed as a probationary or tenured teacher with Buffalo Public Schools.
• Demonstrated knowledge of NGSS, CR‑Part 154, and the ELL/MLL Blueprint.
• Experience teaching within the 9‑12 grade band; prior committee service is preferred.
