Employment Consultant – Community & Job Placement

About the role

We are seeking an energetic Employment Consultant to join our Launceston team. In this hybrid role you will split your time between building community connections and guiding participants toward meaningful employment. You will work directly with individuals facing barriers such as disability, injury or long‑term unemployment and with local businesses to create sustainable job pathways.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with participants to understand their career goals.
• Provide coaching on resume writing, interview techniques and job‑search strategies.
• Identify and secure employment opportunities by cold‑calling, visiting employers and presenting candidates.
• Negotiate job trials, work‑experience placements and wage‑subsidy arrangements.
• Maintain a pipeline of employer contacts and convert opportunities into placements.
• Track participant progress, ensure compliance and meet KPI targets for placements and engagement.

• Confident, people‑focused professional who enjoys variety and hustle.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to balance supportive participant work with proactive employer outreach.
• Motivated to achieve measurable employment outcomes.
