Employee Relations Advisor

About the role

Goulburn Valley Health is looking for an Employee Relations Advisor to join its Employee Relations team in Shepparton. The role reports to the ER Director and sits within a team of experienced Employee Relations Consultants who support the Advisor, with more complex matters referred to Consultants. It is a fixed-term full-time position (80 hours per fortnight) until October 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical advice and support to employees and managers on workplace matters
• Handle employee relations enquiries and case management
• Interpret Enterprise Agreements, legislation, policies and procedures
• Deal with performance and conduct matters, workplace conflict, grievances and complaints
• Support flexible working arrangements, organisational change and fitness for work matters and reasonable adjustments
• Answer classification and entitlement enquiries and process employee and candidate declarations
• Support Enterprise Agreement implementation and union-related processes

Required profile

• Experience in HR or Employee Relations and an understanding of employment legislation, industrial instruments and workplace policies
• Ability to handle difficult conversations calmly and with good judgement
• Willingness to research issues, ask questions and learn
• Ability to balance empathy with clear, practical advice
