Emergency Veterinarian – 24-Hour Referral Hospital

About the role

The Veterinary Referral Hospital (VRH) in Dandenong has provided veterinary referral and emergency services to pets in Melbourne for over 25 years. It is a purpose-built 24-hour emergency and critical care (ECC) facility with a multi-disciplinary team covering Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Neurology and Anaesthesia. The hospital is looking for an emergency veterinarian to join its team of two ECC specialists, an ECC registrar, ANZCVS members, experienced emergency vets and recent graduates.

Required profile

• 2 years or more of experience as an emergency or general practice veterinarian; experience in a busy multi-disciplinary hospital is highly regarded.
• Comfortable working sole charge and managing routine emergency presentations.
• Eager to learn how to manage more complex patients under the supervision of the critical care team.
• Available to work a sustainable roster of day, night and evening shifts, including 1:3 weekends and some public holidays.
• Aligns with the team values of kindness, honesty, teamwork and patient care, and enjoys collaborating with other specialty services.
