Emergency Medicine SRMO – Regional Hospital (Coastal NSW)

About the role

This position is for a Senior Resident Medical Officer (SRMO) in the Emergency Department of a busy regional hospital on the NSW coast. The role starts in August 2026 and offers exposure to a wide variety of acute presentations, including trauma, paediatric, medical and mental health emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, stabilise and manage patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
• Perform clinical procedures such as suturing, plaster casting, airway management and resuscitation.
• Collaborate with consultants, registrars and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in a rotating roster covering evenings, nights and weekends.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure thorough clinical handover.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent qualification.
• AHPRA General Registration or supervision level 3+.
• Minimum 2–3 years postgraduate clinical experience.
• Previous Emergency Department experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to professional development.
