Emergency Medicine Registrar – Senior Role in Darwin

About the role

This is a senior Emergency Medicine Registrar position at a major tertiary teaching hospital in Darwin, Northern Territory. You will work in a high‑performing Emergency Department delivering complex, high‑acuity care to a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a broad range of emergency presentations including major trauma, critical care emergencies, tropical and infectious diseases, and Indigenous health cases.
• Provide retrieval and remote‑medicine support for regional and rural referrals.
• Participate in teaching, supervision and mentorship of junior doctors and medical students.
• Collaborate with FACEM‑qualified consultants and senior clinicians to maintain evidence‑based practice.
• Contribute to departmental education programs and continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Specialist registration with AHPRA or FACEM with recent Emergency Medicine experience.
• Currently enrolled in the ACEM Training Program, or recently qualified FACEM (Australia or New Zealand).
• IMG eligible via the Competent Authority Pathway (UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, NZ) or with a confirmed ACEM interview date.
• Commitment to working in a tertiary, ACEM‑accredited teaching environment.
