Emergency Medicine Registrar (ACEM Trainee) – South Australia

About the role

The Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network is seeking Emergency Medicine Registrars to join its accredited training programme across three regional hospitals in South Australia. Whether you are already enrolled in the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) or are beginning your emergency medicine career, you will gain broad clinical exposure in supportive regional Emergency Departments with strong consultant supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Provide frontline emergency care to adult and paediatric patients, including trauma, acute medical and surgical presentations.
• Participate in resuscitation efforts and emergency procedures under senior supervision.
• Rotate through mixed Emergency Departments at Mount Barker, Gawler and Victor Harbor, handling approximately 35,000, 30,000 and 19,000 presentations annually respectively.
• Engage in structured education sessions, simulation training and workplace‑based assessments.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions and handovers.

Required profile

• Medical degree with eligibility for ACEM training.
• Commitment to a three‑year full‑time or part‑time contract.
• Willingness to work in regional hospital settings.
• Strong interest in developing expertise across adult, paediatric, trauma and resuscitation care.
