Emergency Medicine Consultant – Regional Hospital

About the role

The Regional Hospital in Mount Isa is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Consultant to join its busy emergency department. You will deliver high‑quality acute care to a diverse regional population while supporting remote communities through telehealth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert emergency assessment, treatment and critical care for a wide range of conditions.
• Offer telehealth advice and support to remote health facilities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, coordinated patient care.
• Participate in a 1:3 standby on‑call roster, compensated per occurrence.

Required profile

• Unconditional registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Strong clinical experience in emergency medicine, capable of handling diverse and critical cases.
• Willingness to work 10‑hour shifts on an 8 on/6 off roster (part‑time options available).
• C‑Class motor vehicle licence and ability to work in a regional, rural, and remote setting.
