Electronics Engineer - Avionics

About the role

Black Sky is looking for an Electronics Engineer to work within its Avionics development team. You will design and develop electrical systems and components that drive the company's technology, from initial concepting and design through to testing, integration and maintenance, across the full product life cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the creation and development of advanced electrical systems
• Integrate electrical systems into BSA's rockets with fellow engineers
• Maintain documentation such as design specifications, test procedures and technical reports
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and safety requirements
• Run electrical calculations, simulations and testing to assess system performance
• Troubleshoot electrical engineering challenges and deliver practical solutions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics engineering, or equivalent
• Proven experience transferring PCB assembly designs to manufacturing
• Experience in embedded systems using C and/or C++
• Australian citizenship and ability to qualify for Australian security clearances
• Desired: 4+ years of experience, baseline security clearance or above, and experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100

Required skills

• Fusion360 Electrical Design or Altium Designer for circuit capture and PCB layout
• Designing and reading electrical schematics
• Electrical safety standards and EMC compliance design and testing awareness
• Desired: PCB design with impedance matching, RF design considerations and EMI
