Electronic Design Engineer

About the role

A fast-growing global brand based in Sydney is looking for an Electronic Design Engineer to join its team, working on high-quality product designs and robust engineered solutions for consumer markets. The role is permanent and full-time, based in Central Sydney, with a salary of around $110,000 plus super (negotiable).

Key responsibilities

• Ensure products are holistically considered and linked to the company's mission and ethics.
• Detail design of electronics assembly, including schematic capture and solid PCB design.
• Build electronics prototypes quickly, internally and with suppliers.
• Communicate with manufacturers on component selection, assembly development and production quality expectations.
• Contribute to product compliance and collaborate with the mechanical/industrial design team.
• Maintain technical documentation and assist with reports to stakeholders.
• Help create product performance test procedures to meet regulatory standards and brand expectations.
• Support the development and delivery of the strategic product roadmap.

Required profile

• Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering, with electromechanical experience in product design and manufacturing.
• Around 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in consumer products or medical devices.
• End-to-end motor-driven product development experience.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and coordinating with international manufacturing partners.

Required skills

• Strong electronics design knowledge.
• High proficiency in Altium.
• Rapid prototyping skills; Arduino and MCU programming are a plus.
• Familiarity with regional and international electrical and safety compliance standards.
