Electrician - FIFO Remote Village Operations (2:2 Roster)

About the role

Sodexo is looking for experienced electricians to join its Facilities Management team on remote village and mine-site operations in Queensland, on a 2:2 FIFO roster (two weeks on-site, two weeks at home). You will maintain, service and repair electrical infrastructure and equipment so that village facilities operate safely and reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, testing and fault-finding across site electrical systems and equipment
• Complete electrical repairs, breakdown maintenance and installations according to work orders and safety procedures
• Maintain village infrastructure including accommodation, kitchen, laundry and township electrical equipment
• Keep accurate maintenance records, inspection reports and electrical compliance documentation
• Promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, pre-start meetings and adherence to OHS policies and procedures

Required profile

• Current Queensland Electrical Licence, CPR/LVR certification, Construction White Card and current Australian driver's licence
• Previous experience as an electrical mechanic in mining, remote villages, facilities management, commercial construction or industrial maintenance
• Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation
• Strong knowledge of OHS regulations, safety standards and safe systems of work
• Willingness to travel to and from work, endure remote environments in extreme weather, and work long shifts (up to 12 hours)
• Must pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening; a National Police Check is required if not held within the last 6 months
• Candidates must be local to the advertised position or willing to relocate at their own expense

Required skills

• Fault-finding, troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance
• Electrical contractor's licence (desirable)
• Strong communication skills, able to work autonomously and in a team
