Electrician – Afternoon Shift, Heavy Industry

About the role

InfraBuild Reinforcing is looking for an electrician for its Cavan, South Australia site, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. The role covers maintenance, fault-finding, repair and optimisation of electrical and control systems on large-scale equipment, automation, drives, conveyors and plant machinery. It is a hands-on position in a high-performance, safety-conscious environment, open to New Zealand or Australian citizens only.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across heavy industrial plant
• Carry out equipment audits, machine installs and preventative maintenance
• Troubleshoot PLC systems and assist in programming (training provided if required)
• Identify operational improvements through root cause analysis and continuous improvement
• Assist with mechanical tasks such as belt tracking, lubrication, bearings, chains, motors and gearboxes
• Deliver all work safely and in line with Infrabuild standards

Required profile

• Unrestricted Electrical Licence (SA)
• Certificate III Electrotechnology or higher
• Demonstrated experience in industrial maintenance, troubleshooting and problem-solving
• Experience in PLC programming, hydraulics and proportional valves, and CMMS platforms such as MAINPAC is highly regarded
• Experience in heavy industry is highly regarded

Required skills

• Industrial controls, PLCs, HMIs and VFDs
• Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics
• Mechanical aptitude with pneumatic and mechanical systems
• Microsoft Office and report writing

• Pay of $54-$60 per hour (C8), plus 15% afternoon shift loading, 12% super, bonus and overtime
