Electrical Instrumentation Technician

About the role

Tomago Aluminium is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Technician to join its Asset Management team. The role involves hands‑on technical support for calibration, maintenance, breakdown response and equipment repairs across one of Australia’s largest manufacturing sites.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance and timely equipment repairs.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and control issues.
• Repair, test and calibrate electronic and instrumentation equipment.
• Provide technical support to production and field maintenance teams.
• Contribute to improvements across process control systems.

Required profile

• Qualified electrical tradesperson with an Electrical Trade Certificate.
• Possession of a Qualified Supervisor Licence.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Ability to work well within a team and provide customer‑focused support.

Required skills

• Calibration and maintenance of industrial instrumentation.
• Repair and testing of analog and digital control instrumentation.
• Interpretation of electrical drawings.
• Experience with weighing, level, flow, pressure, temperature and combustion control systems.
• Knowledge of Type B combustion appliances.
