Electrical Inspector (Code Compliance)

About the role

The Electrical Inspector is the Code Compliance Manager for all electrical installations and works carried out at site. The role ensures that installations and works conform to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and site policy and procedures, and advises the Engineering, Project, O&M and customer teams on critical infrastructure configuration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Site Electrical Inspection program and its training curriculum
• Conduct field inspections and compile investigation reports
• Inspect electrical installations, repairs or modifications against codes, standards, plans and specifications
• Provide technical advice to the Site Electrical Safety Program and act as a technical authority and subject matter expert
• Help identify, communicate and resolve technical issues related to critical infrastructure installation, recapitalization and configuration changes
• Integrate, coordinate and share technical information, recommendations and advice on facility electrical infrastructure, systems and equipment
• Advise on reliability, operation, maintenance and life-cycle management of facilities systems and equipment
• Promote and maintain health and safety practices and compliance at site

Required profile

• State licensed Master Electrician (minimum essential)
• 5 years of experience in domestic, commercial and industrial electrical work (low voltage and medium voltage)
• Ability to read and interpret electrical installation blueprints and technical drawings
• Fluent reading, writing and speaking of English; at least 18 years old
• Security clearance: TS/SCI (US) clearance with polygraph required
• Desirable: undergraduate or postgraduate degree, NFPA CESCP certification, Electrical Inspector certification, drivers licence, CPR, Australian White Card, confined space, working at heights and first aid
