Electrical Inspector (Code Compliance)

About the role

The Electrical Inspector acts as the Code Compliance Manager for all electrical installations and works, ensuring they conform to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and site policy and procedures. The role advises the Engineering, Project, O&M and customer teams and supports the Site Electrical Safety Program as a technical authority and subject matter expert.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Site Electrical Inspection program and its training curriculum
• Conduct field inspections and compile investigation reports
• Check electrical installations, repairs and modifications against codes, standards, plans and specifications
• Advise on the Site Electrical Safety Program and help identify and resolve technical issues early
• Support the integration, coordination and communication of technical information on electrical infrastructure, systems and equipment
• Give recommendations on reliability, operation, maintenance and life-cycle management of facilities systems
• Promote and maintain health and safety practices and compliance at site

Required profile

• State licensed Master Electrician (minimum essential)
• 5 years of experience in domestic, commercial and industrial electrical work (low voltage and medium voltage)
• Ability to read and interpret electrical installation blueprints and technical drawings
• Fluent reading, writing and speaking of English; at least 18 years old
• Security clearance: TS/SCI (US) clearance with polygraph required
• Desirable: undergraduate or postgraduate degree, NFPA CESCP certification, Electrical Inspector certification, drivers licence, CPR, Australian White Card, confined space, working at heights and first aid
