Electrical Engineer – Secondary Design

About the role

Egis Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join its Transmission team, focusing on secondary design for high‑voltage (HV) and extra‑high‑voltage (EHV) terminal stations and substations across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed secondary designs including panel layouts, schematics, protection settings, and cable/wiring schedules.
• Manage design outcomes within budget and programme constraints while maintaining technical quality.
• Participate in peer reviews and handle scope variations as required by clients or project changes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience on electrical transmission projects.
• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent and valid work rights for Australia.

Required skills

• Secondary design for networks above 66 kV.
• Knowledge of IEC 61850 standards.
• Experience with panel layout design, schematics, protection settings, and cable/wiring schedules.
