Educational Leader / Co-Lead (Toddler Room)

About the role

Explore and Develop King St Newcastle, a 55-place long day care centre for children from birth to 6 years, is looking for a full-time Educational Leader / Co-Lead for its Toddler Room. The role splits between 3 days on the floor supporting the Toddler Room team and 2 days off the floor leading pedagogy, mentoring educators and driving continuous improvement. It works closely with the Centre Manager, Pedagogy Leader and leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pedagogical leadership and guidance across the service
• Implement and support high-quality programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standard
• Work with educators to create inclusive, engaging learning environments
• Support observation, documentation, planning and assessment
• Manage programming and study time efficiently and help complete observation records, learning documentation and reports
• Mentor educators and promote a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement
• Work three days a week with the Toddler Room team and build strong relationships with children and families

Required profile

• ACECQA-recognised Early Childhood Teaching degree with NESA Teacher Accreditation
• Leadership experience in an early childhood setting
• Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Law and Regulations, National Quality Standard and EYLF
• First Aid and CPR certificates, plus current asthma and anaphylaxis management certificates
• Child protection training completed and a current Working with Children Check
• Ability to work flexible shifts across 5 days per week
