Early Childhood Teacher - St Nicholas Muswellbrook

About the role

St Nicholas Early Education supports families and helps children develop the skills to flourish at home, in care and in communities. The Early Childhood Teacher works with the Educational Leader to shape the curriculum and the progress of a designated room. The position is permanent and full time, based at the Muswellbrook service.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Educational Leader to develop and evolve the curriculum and the progress of the designated room
• Communicate clearly and regularly with parents
• Implement the ELYF curriculum suited to the needs and interests of children in care
• Keep concise records

Required profile

• Degree in Early Childhood Teaching recognised by the Australian Children's Education and Care Authority (mandatory), or an approved Diploma in Children's Services; candidates studying toward their degree with suitable experience will be considered
• NSW accredited teacher
• Child protection qualification
• Current First Aid certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management training, and a valid Working with Children Check

Required skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
• Understanding of child protection, mandatory reporting and workplace health and safety
