Early Childhood Educator (Casual)

About the role

Derby Children's Service, part of One Tree Community Services, is looking for a casual Early Childhood Educator. The service is close to the Derby community and school, takes part in local festivals and runs a school readiness program in the final term. It offers a nursery, toddlers and kindy room and uses child-led approaches. The position is based in Derby, Western Australia.

Required profile

• Eligible to work in Australia and live in Derby.
• Cert III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, working towards a Diploma, or an ACECQA-approved equivalent.
• Current WA Working with Children Check and satisfactory National Police Clearance.
• Foundations of Child Safety Training Certificate and Advanced Child Safety Training.
• Commitment to working with Aboriginal people and in Aboriginal communities, in line with the service's values.

Required skills

• Advocacy for children and their rights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and implement educational programs.
• Knowledge of EYLF, NQS, MTOP and relevant regulations.
