Early Childhood Educator (Adelaide Hills)

About the role

King's Baptist Grammar School is seeking Diploma-qualified Early Childhood Educators for its Early Learners Centre in the Adelaide Hills, working with children aged 3 to 5 years. Opportunities exist for casual, part-time and full-time positions starting in November 2026, with hours negotiable but requiring shift work across 6:30am to 6pm on various days. The role reports to the ELC Director.

Key responsibilities

• Work alongside Early Childhood Teachers to facilitate the learning and teaching program for children in the ELC.
• Contribute to the implementation of the Early Years Learning Framework for individual children and groups.
• Lead groups of children in experiences such as reading stories, dance and songs.
• Implement daily care routines sensitively and respectfully.
• Assist teachers and other educators with observations of children.
• Implement the National Quality Framework, hygiene practices and health and food safety regulations.
• Participate in professional learning, staff meetings and quality improvement activities, and follow ELC policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma qualification in ECEC (ACECQA approved).
• Valid Working with Children Check and current First Aid certificate (HLTAID004).
• Completed Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect training.
• Commitment to the school's Christian-based vision, mission and values.
• Understanding of children's developmental needs and the Early Years Learning Framework.

Desirable: experience as an educator in an early childhood centre, knowledge of the Reggio Emilia approach, expertise in information technology, parent engagement programs and learning interventions for children with diverse needs.
