Drainage Engineer

About the role

WSP is expanding its Bridges, Aviation and Roads team in Perth and is looking for Drainage and Waterways Engineers to join its Transport & Infrastructure Group. Based in the Perth CBD office, you will design drainage systems for civil infrastructure projects, from highways to airports, and work on landmark transport projects plus smaller community initiatives. The role suits all levels of experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design innovative drainage systems for civil infrastructure projects.
• Lead and coordinate design elements to meet project goals and client expectations.
• Partner with discipline leads on large-scale projects and take ownership of your deliverables.
• Produce high-quality design reports, models and drawing packages.
• Assist or lead the development of tools and workflows that remove manual tasks and speed up design.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Bachelor's or Master's).
• 3-15 years' experience in drainage design, preferably for transport infrastructure; all levels of experience above this are welcome.
• Knowledge of Austroads guidelines, Main Roads WA standards and PTA standards, and rail drainage standards (highly favourable).
• Hands-on experience designing stormwater and drainage (open channels, culverts, pit and piped systems).
• Chartership or working towards it is highly regarded, depending on experience.

Required skills

• OpenRoads, 12D, DRAINS and MUSIC.
• Dynamic drainage in 12D and/or TUFLOW or HEC-RAS is a bonus.
