Drafting Engineer (Melbourne)

About the role

Lee Group is seeking a Drafting Engineer to join its Melbourne team. You will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings and supporting the construction of commercial and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical drawings, layouts, fabrication details and as‑built drawings.
• Update and coordinate drawings in response to design revisions and site requirements.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, standards and relevant codes.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision logs and documentation control.
• Identify drafting conflicts and suggest constructability improvements.
• Liaise with engineers, architects, builders and contractors to support approvals, fabrication and construction.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of drafting or drafting‑engineering experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Tekla.
• Strong understanding of drafting and engineering design principles.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with high attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Drafting or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in commercial construction, infrastructure or industrial projects is an advantage.
