Dive Instructor

About the role

Quicksilver Cruises is looking for an enthusiastic, safety-focused Dive Instructor to join its experienced dive team in Port Douglas. Operating daily on the Great Barrier Reef, the role delivers safe, professional and memorable diving experiences to guests from around the world. The position reports to the Dive Operations Manager and requires weekend and public holiday work.

Key responsibilities

• Lead certified dives, run PADI DSD experiences and the Oceanwalker program
• Deliver dive briefings so guests understand safety and operational requirements
• Provide high-quality instruction and supervision to divers of all experience levels
• Check equipment and maintain high standards of dive safety
• Monitor guest wellbeing and respond to changing conditions
• Support other vessel and guest operations as required
• Maintain professional standards and contribute to a positive team culture

Required profile

• Current PADI Dive Instructor qualification
• Current First Aid, CPR and oxygen provider qualifications
• Commercial diving experience, preferably in a tourism operation
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Genuine commitment to safety and adherence to operational procedures
• Team player with a professional, positive approach to guest service
• Able to stay calm and make sound decisions in changing conditions
