Distribution Lineworker

About the role

Ausgrid, the largest electricity distributor on Australia's east coast, is looking for a Distribution Lineworker. The role is critical to keeping the overhead network safe, reliable, sustainable and affordable, working to high standards of quality, cost and time. It covers Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle and the Upper Hunter regions.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, install and maintain overhead network infrastructure and electrical equipment
• Prepare work sites and liaise with internal and external stakeholders
• Resolve customer issues and interpret technical documentation
• Play a key part in emergency restoration work

Required profile

• Cert III in ESI Power Systems (or equivalent)
• Proven experience in an electrical trade role in electricity distribution or a related industry, including line work
• Class MR driver's licence
• Electrical Safety Rules accreditation and other relevant statutory training
• Knowledge of safe working practices, network standards and codes of practice
• High Risk Work Licences (e.g. Elevated Work Platform and Dogging)
• WorkCover general induction, asbestos awareness and safe manual handling experience
• Basic computer and mobile device skills and effective communication
• Full Australian work rights
