Dispensary Manager – Pharmacist (Hospital & Retail)

About the role
We are seeking an experienced pharmacist to lead the dispensary at Slade Pharmacy Geelong, located within Epworth Hospital. The role combines hospital and retail pharmacy responsibilities, ensuring safe, accurate and timely medication supply while supporting high‑quality patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage day‑to‑day dispensary operations across hospital and retail services.
- Oversee inventory, imprest and stock control to meet operational and financial targets.
- Collaborate with pharmacists, technicians and multidisciplinary hospital staff to optimise medication use.
- Support PBS claiming, billing and prescription processing.
- Monitor performance, conduct quality assurance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supervise, coach and develop pharmacy team members, including onboarding and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, accreditation standards and act as delegate for the Pharmacy Operations Manager when required.
Required profile
- Current registration as a Pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Previous experience in a hospital or community pharmacy with leadership or supervisory duties.
- Strong dispensing knowledge and commitment to medication safety.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
