Disabled Carer – Far North Queensland

About the role

A full-time Disabled Carer position is available in Far North Queensland, offering an annual salary of $70,000-$80,000 depending on experience. The role centres on providing professional, compassionate care and support that promotes client independence, dignity and wellbeing, working with clients, their families and other support networks to help them achieve their personal goals.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure support plans and service plans are understood and followed so that high-quality services are delivered
• Provide personal care including hygiene, medication and assistance with feeding as required
• Support community and social participation, skills development and companionship
• Help with household management, mealtime management and client transport as rostered
• Live-in shifts and assist clients throughout the night
• Maintain client documentation and privacy, report client changes and incidents immediately, and follow workplace health and safety procedures

Required profile

• At least a relevant Certificate III qualification
• At least 12 months of relevant work experience
• Physically fit, able to lift, bend, stretch and twist

Required skills

• Excellent interpersonal communication and ability to follow procedures and instructions
• Time management, attention to detail and confidentiality
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team, and to use software and systems as required
