Disability Support Worker – Spinal Cord Injury Participant

About the role

Unidex Healthcare, a private recruitment company active across Australia, is recruiting experienced Disability Support Workers to support a 20-year-old female participant in Stratheden, NSW. The participant has a spinal cord injury with reduced lower limb mobility and some upper limb limitations. The role suits someone able to give compassionate, person-centred support while helping her stay independent and engaged in daily life.

Key responsibilities

• Support with personal care and daily living activities, including supervision and prompting
• Assist with bowel therapy, administering enemas and digital stimulation
• Prompt medication taking
• Help with domestic tasks such as cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
• Support community access and rehabilitation appointments

Required profile

• Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate
• Police check within the last 12 months and NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Working with Children Check
• Full Australian working rights and an Australian driver's licence with access to a reliable vehicle
• Two current references

Required skills

• NDIS Worker Orientation Module completed or willing to complete
• NDIS Supporting Effective Communication Module completed or willing to complete
• Positive attitude, reliability and flexibility

What we offer

• Shifts Monday to Sunday: 10:00am-3:00pm (5 days) and 6:00pm-10:00pm (4 days)
• Pay of $40 per hour day, $44 per hour afternoon, $56 on Saturday and $72 on Sunday
• Mileage incentive of $0.73c per km after the first 10 km
