Disability Support Worker - Multiple Support Roles

About the role

Leap Support Services is hiring Disability Support Workers for the North-West Coast of Tasmania (Burnie-Wynyard and surrounds). The work is flexible shift work of 6-8 hour shifts plus sleepover shifts, covering days, evenings, weekends and nights. The employer is looking for people who can travel between Burnie-Wynyard and the surrounding areas and who are able to work sleepover shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support tailored to each participant's goals and needs
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, manual handling and medication support
• Help participants access the community and build independence
• Respond calmly and effectively to challenging situations
• Build positive, trusting relationships with participants
• Work collaboratively within a supportive team

Required profile

• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Vulnerable People Check
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate
• Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• Driver's licence and reliable vehicle
• Ability to work from Wynyard to Latrobe and to complete sleepover shifts
• Desirable: medication endorsement, experience with complex needs or behaviour support, and a Certificate III in Disability / Individual Support (or similar)
