Director of Work Health & Safety – APAC

About the role

An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced Work Health & Safety leader to shape and drive a regional safety strategy across ANZ and APAC. Reporting to the Executive, you will embed a best‑practice safety framework and influence culture, governance and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a Group‑wide WHS strategy aligned to business objectives.
• Establish and maintain a robust WHS Management System across multiple regions.
• Lead the evolution of safety maturity, culture and capability.
• Partner with senior leaders to embed safety into decision‑making and operational initiatives.
• Drive proactive risk management through audits, observations, investigations and continuous improvement programs.
• Monitor safety performance, analyse trends and implement improvement initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with regulators, external stakeholders and regional leadership teams.
• Lead significant incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are applied.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing WHS team.

Required profile

• Strategic, commercially minded safety leader with executive‑level influencing ability.
• Tertiary qualification in WHS, Occupational Health, Engineering, Science or related discipline.
• Significant senior WHS leadership experience in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, healthcare products or similarly regulated industries.
• Strong knowledge of ANZ WHS legislation and contemporary risk‑management practices; APAC legislation exposure advantageous.
• Proven track record of building high‑performance safety cultures and delivering measurable safety improvements.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.
