Director of People Operations

About the role

Sitemate is looking for a Director of People Operations to own the end‑to‑end people function, including global payroll, talent acquisition, IT provisioning and people programs. This senior, hands‑on role will design and build the next‑generation, AI‑enabled People Operations architecture while leading a small team.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement a fully automated People Operations system using tools such as Rippling, Remote and Ashby, supplemented by AI agents.
• Lead a team of a Senior Talent Acquisition Manager and a People Operations Manager, setting direction, standards and performance expectations.
• Oversee global payroll accuracy, recruitment processes, employee lifecycle, performance, engagement and learning programs.
• Map existing manual admin steps, prioritize automation, and deliver the first automation or AI agent within the first 90 days.
• Collaborate with the CEO, Finance, Legal and department leaders on strategy, headcount planning, compensation and compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading People Operations or HR functions at a senior level, preferably in a fast‑growing tech environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to design systems, frameworks and playbooks that can be run by managers independently.
• Hands‑on builder attitude, comfortable developing workflows, automations and AI agents.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to work closely with executive leadership, finance and legal teams.
