Director of Marketing (Australia)

About the role

Turo is seeking an experienced, strategic marketer to lead the full growth funnel for Turo Australia. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will own demand and supply side growth, manage a marketing team, and act as the commercial bridge to global functions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute brand positioning, media, influencer, PR and social strategies for the Australian market.
• Own demand‑side acquisition and retention across paid, organic, partnership and CRM channels, managing capital allocation and conversion optimisation.
• Lead supply‑side host acquisition, city‑level growth playbooks and lifecycle optimisation.
• Balance two‑sided marketplace dynamics to maximise overall platform health.
• Build, mentor and manage a high‑performing marketing team, setting OKRs and ensuring accountability.
• Manage relationships with global marketing, supply leadership, agencies and external partners.
• Partner with FP&A, accounting and legal on budgeting, forecasting, compliance and ROI reporting.
• Own the marketing P&L, monitor performance against board targets and deliver growth and profitability.

Required profile

• 10+ years of marketing experience, including at least 2 years in a growth‑marketing or marketplace environment.
• Proven ability to manage and develop marketing teams.
• Strong understanding of two‑sided marketplace economics and unit economics.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in a matrixed, global organisation.

Required skills

• Performance‑marketing expertise (SEM, paid social, affiliate, email/CRM, partnerships).
• Advanced proficiency with analytics and AI tools such as GA4, Ads Managers and Claude.
• Financial acumen for budgeting, forecasting and ROAS analysis.
