Director of Corporate and Customer Relations

About the role

The Shire of Capel is seeking an experienced senior leader to provide executive direction across finance, governance, risk, business and technology services, and customer relations. Reporting to the CEO, you will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, shaping strategy and delivering critical projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic financial planning, budgeting and asset management.
• Oversee the successful delivery of a major ERP implementation.
• Manage governance, risk and compliance frameworks.
• Direct customer service, communications and Ranger services to enhance community experience.
• Drive organisational capability building and a culture of safety and service excellence.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience within a local government environment.
• Strong background in financial management and stewardship, preferably with a finance or accounting qualification.
• Demonstrated ability to lead senior managers and influence executive decision‑making.
• Commitment to fostering a safe, collaborative and customer‑focused culture.

What we offer

• Base salary of $185,400 per year plus superannuation.
