Director - Northern Territory

About the role

The Director will lead Australian Red Cross operations across the Northern Territory, combining strategic leadership with operational excellence to deliver lasting humanitarian impact. This full‑time, hybrid role reports to senior leadership and works closely with the NT Divisional Council, volunteers and community partners.

Key responsibilities

• Drive execution of the organisation’s strategy and oversee day‑to‑day operations in the NT.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, community leaders, donors and partner organisations.
• Secure sustainable funding and advocate for humanitarian priorities.
• Foster a high‑performing, values‑driven culture aligned with the Red Cross Fundamental Principles.
• Represent Australian Red Cross externally and act as a senior ambassador for the movement.

Required profile

• Extensive senior leadership experience with a track record of cultural transformation.
• Proven ability to lead high‑performing teams and deliver outcomes for communities.
• Inclusive stakeholder engagement experience, especially with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and culturally diverse groups.
• Strong financial management and organisational acumen.
• High degree of autonomy, initiative and strategic thinking.
• Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills at senior levels.
