Director, Controls Assurance - Internal Audit

About the role

Deloitte is recruiting a Director for its Controls Assurance business in Perth, WA. The role leads high-profile internal audit and controls assurance work for major clients across Western Australia and nationally, working with boards, audit committees and executive teams to strengthen governance, risk management and control environments. It is a senior leadership position within a Perth-based practice that contributes to Deloitte's national Controls Assurance strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead internal audit and controls assurance engagements across complex client environments, setting direction and delivering practical, commercially relevant insights.
• Work directly with senior executives, audit committees and boards to identify control improvement opportunities and support better decisions.
• Build client relationships, identify opportunities, support pursuits and help shape market-facing solutions.
• Coach teams, set quality expectations and develop the next generation of assurance professionals.
• Contribute to the growth of the business and to national priorities, bringing global insight to local market opportunities.

Required profile

• An experienced leader in internal audit, controls assurance or risk advisory ready for a visible senior role.
• Experience leading engagements, working with boards and executives, and turning complex risk issues into clear recommendations.
• Experience building client relationships and leading teams, coaching senior practitioners and setting quality standards.
• A CA, CIA or similar qualification is valued but not essential.
