About the role
The Director – Communications Centre leads the strategic and operational delivery of emergency and non‑emergency transport communications for Ambulance Tasmania, a key component of the Department of Health. This senior position ensures safe, timely, and resilient communication services across the state.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage day‑to‑day operations of the Communications Centre, including call receipt and dispatch for emergency and non‑emergency transports.
- Provide strategic advice and drive implementation of modern systems such as the GRN Radio System.
- Champion continuous improvement, operational resilience, and service excellence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, emergency services, government agencies, and external service providers.
Required profile
- Demonstrated senior leadership and change‑management experience in complex operational environments.
- High‑level communication, negotiation and relationship‑building capabilities.
- Relevant qualifications and experience in ambulance operations and communications.
- Registration with the Paramedicine Board of Australia and eligibility to meet all essential licensing requirements.
